The recipes are organized into the following levels:

• Topics - oganizing the Chapters on the home page
• Chapters - web pages
• Groups
• Sections
• Recipes

There are 12 text data files that contain everything needed to create the site. The data structure is completely normalized.
Other than a couple hand-coded pages, like this one, and the tops and bottoms of a few major pages, all code is VBA generated.

There are two types of data files:

• General text files edited with Notepad:
  • RecipeData.txt
  • AmazonAds.txt - Snippets of code for each ad.
  • AdUsage.txt - I wanted to put the usage in the Chapters file, but we also need the ad list for the home page.
  • BelowTables.txt - Links that go below the Table of Contents.
  • ChapSubTitles.txt - Smaller sub-title text under the page title (only in Appetizers).
  • TOCIconCode.txt - Code for the icons that some sections have (mostly in Veggies).

• Delimited files that have an Excel editor:
  • Chapters.txt
  • Groups.txt
  • Sections-Info.txt
  • TableOfContents.txt
  • PhotoCredits.txt
  • ThumbnailData.txt - For linked blog recipes.

• Analysis Web Pages:
  • All Amazon Ads on one page (easier checking)
  • All Thumbnails on one page (for the recipes this site only links to)
  • All Pictures on one page (huge page. web use discouraged)

• Analysis Text Files:
  • Entries without pictures
  • Book ISBNs without images

• Internally Maintained File:
  • Date recipe added (will get messed up if move facilty not used)

• A page on Processing Procedures.

• Macros:

  The Excel spreadsheet I developed is available on request. It finds/replaces with numerous options, resizes images, creates image links, adds page sideways navigation, creates HTML site maps, etc. For this website, the processing and accessing the data files is done from this dashboard:

  

• All of the VBA code that is specific to this website resides in one module. Here's that VBA Code. There are a lot of edits to ensure correct input.
• Website code is validated with Total Validator Pro.
• Host data is kept in sync with the site constructed on the hard drive using SmartSync.
