Charoset

Charoset

One dessert/salad that is well received by my family is Charoset. It's a traditional Passover food made with apples, walnuts, raisins, honey and cinnamon – you just chop up apples and walnuts and toss them with raisins, a bit of honey and as much cinnamon as you want. At the Seder it's meant to symbolize the mortar used by the Israelites in building the pyramids of Egypt, but you don't have to make it *that* sticky! I just use enough honey to enhance the natural sweetness of the apples.
