Traditional Scotch Pie Filling
1 tsp oil1 onion, minced
2 lb ground lamb or ground beef or ground veal
3 cloves garlic, chopped
1-1/2 tsp pepper
1 tsp salt
1 tsp dried savory
1 tsp dried sage
1/2 tsp allspice
In small skillet, heat oil over medium heat; fry onion, stirring occasionally, until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add meat, garlic, pepper, salt, savory, sage and allspice; mix well. Cook until meat is browned.
